At work, but not fully present

The Problem

Roger Borycki

Ex McKinsey Asset Productivity Expert, Operations practice – Assisted international and domestic clients to transform and deliver increased productivity and profitability from their physical asset base.

The journey to Presenteeism has spanned several decades. It started with an investigation into a serious injury. The follow up root cause investigation ultimately ended up with a determination of ‘lack of present moment thinking’. The individual knew how to do the task safely and correctly, the conditions had not changed but on this occasion, they did not. The search for how and why people make mistakes and how to minimize them has ended up with Presenteeism.

Roger has, deep experience, both line and staff, from the executive suite to the shop floor, in delivering, Operations Excellence, Maintenance, and Engineering improvements for large businesses across multiple capital-intensive industries, in both domestic and international environments.

Board level experience through director roles, which includes guiding the privatization of the Terrace, British Columbia airport through its divestiture from Transport Canada to a fully independent profitable entity. Chamber of Commerce Director to support the long-term commercial development of the Kitimat, British Columbia valley.

Roger has a Batchelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan and has published and presented in numerous industry venues.
